Tool#11 Self Assessing and Reflecting

1. I liked Animoto, being a user of You Tube for video clips.
2. I feel the information I have learned can benefit teaching and learning because it offers more tools.
3. Some of the tools offered me insight to new possibilities. It will take time for me to develop a capability to use some of the ideas.

Tool#10 Underneath it All-Digital Citizenship

1.  I would stress their are responsibilities and rules that we must all comply too. I would also point out that if rules are not followed, how it can affect your peers and the program. Thirdly, I would point out the consequences for the individual that broke or tried to work around the rules.
2.  Digizen looks like a good tool to teach about being a good net citizen.
3. This difficult to answer at this time.  I would confer with my peers, about ideas.  I would have rules clearly defined verbally and visually.  I would also have a class discussion, to clarify and answer questions.
4.  Also difficult to answer at this point.  I would hope the District or Memorial H.S. would communicate this to the parents.  I would hope my role would be to reinforce the policies to the parents, with updates, in reference to my class.

Tool #9 Incorporating Classroom-Based devices as tools for learning.

1.  I believe it is important to tie technology to my class objective, because it offers an opportunity to broaden the scope of teaching. Technology allows me a variety of ways to get information to the students.
2.  It is important to hold the students accountable for the tech centers, so that all students will have the opportunity to use the facility.
3.  I liked Thinfinity, it would offer another learning tool.  Students like to play games and compete.  The other site I liked was Ten Marks.  It would offer an opportunity for self-pace learning. It could give the teacher an insight of where the student is, in reference to understanding.
4.  An app that I would like to use are History Maps of the World. It offers update Maps and some are interactive.
5.  My students will be able to create better projects, use games to review and reinforce material taught. With the use of these tech centers, teachers will have more sources and variety to teach.

Tool#8 Taking a Look at the Tools

1. What I learned about the tools? I like that the Dell 2120 offers a webcam, which could be used to interact with other classes around the world. I have received the I pad touch and am experimenting with it, now. As I work with it I hope to be able to expand my knowledge, so that I can expand ways that my classes can benefit.

2. How do I plan to manage the devices in the classroom?
I plan to create tech guidelines through discussion with my peers. I want to setup workstations in my class,      thus making it easier to monitor the use of these devices. Want to device a plan that will rotate the use of the workstations, so as to give all students not only an opportunity to use it, but to get maximum use.

Tool #7 Reaching Outside your classroom

Set up a collaborative discussion with a class in Germany, studying WWII.

a) The objective is to compare the views of German history to American, in reference to what led up to WWII, in Europe.

b) The plan would be to implement in late March.

c) The project would be a video stream to a German class and my own.  Myself and the teacher of the German class would consult and come up with some pre-planned questions. Questions would be presented with interactive discussion between the two classes.

d) Tools plan to use:
    Skype in the classroom
    Taking it Global
    Global School net.org.

Tool #6 Using Web Tools to Promote Discussion in and out of the Classroom

Poll everywhere would be great. Gives great feedback and could be used in many areas.

Today's Meet offers an opportunity for immediate feedback by students and yet allows teacher to finish lecture. Saves time and probably increases participation.

Tool # 5 Producing with web 2.0 tools

What a great tool. It offers numerous opportunities for me to add to my lessons. I will be able to expand my lectures and offer the students an opportunity for their projects.

Interesting and I can see the benefits of this for my courses and students. It will take some additional practice on my part.
